  1. MAX485 Chip: The USB to RS485 RS422 Serial Cable uses the common MAX485 chip for efficient RS485 and RS422 communication over long distances.
  2. High-Speed Data Rates: RS485 and RS422 support data rates up to 10 Mbps, ensuring high-speed data transfer and effectively improving the efficiency and responsiveness of communication systems.
  3. Error-Resistant Design: Equipped with distinctive signal markings on the terminal block, helping users reduce wiring errors and ensure accurate connections.
  4. Multi-Platform Support: Compatible with a variety of operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS, ensuring versatile use across different computing environments and enhancing flexibility and convenience.

Application:

RS485 and RS422 are both serial communication standards used for long-distance data transmission, but there are some differences for reference:

  1. Differential Signal Transmission: RS485 and RS422 use differential signal transmission way. On the RS485 network, the data is transmitted over two wires (A and B), improving noise immunity and enabling longer distances; while on the RS422 network, the data is exchanged over two pairs of wires (one pair for transmission and one for reception).
  2. Multi-Point Communication: RS485 supports multi-point configurations, allowing multiple devices (up to 32 slaves) to be connected on the same bus; while RS422 supports point-to-point configurations, connecting two devices directly. Of course, in some special applications, it also can connect 10 slaves to the RS422 bus line at the same time.
  3. Pinouts & Signal Lines: RS485 uses A+ and B- for differential signal; while RS422 uses TX+ and Tx- for data transmission, RX+ and RX- for data reception.
